His Bone Marrow is healthy!
As of right now they still don’t know why his ANC levels are so low. The doctor said that It could take up to 2 months to figure it out. They have been doing things a little out of order to get Lincoln into Surgery ASAP and safely.
Adam and I will be administering GCSF injections once a day for Lincoln. What is GCSF? Granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF or GCSF), also known as colony-stimulating factor 3 (CSF 3), is a glycoprotein that stimulates the bone marrow to produce granulocytes (type of white blood cell) and stem cells and release them into the bloodstream. Usually Cancer patients take the GCSF injections after Chemotherapy to get their White Blood count back up.
Lincoln will go in 3 days after the injections have started to see what his ANC count is doing, and then the day before surgery to make sure his levels are stable.
We will keep giving him his injections until after surgery, and then after he is recovered we will start weaning him off the injections. If his levels start to drop back down then we will continue exploring what is going on for him to have the low ANC.
His Surgery is scheduled for May 31.
There are side effects associated with this injection. Lincoln has a lot of white blood cells to make up, his bones will be working very hard making those numbers go up, it is common for their bones to hurt. Another known side effect is burning as the injection goes into the muscle. Please pray that Lincoln will be a champ and wont experience the side effects.
Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts.
and once again, THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the donations. I cant even put into words how much that means to us! https://www.gofundme.com/lovinglincoln
